Vibrations generated by large vehicles driving over manhole covers

Reported via desktop anonymously at 14:04, Monday 18 January 2021

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and South Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later

We live at 185 Thame Road. We have noticed for some time that large vehicles travelling in both directions do occasionally cause our house to vibrate. This coincides with the vehicles travelling over manhole covers located on the road a short distance either side of the entrance to our home. The problem seems worse for vehicles travelling North towards Stadhampton. We are concerned that this is causing or will cause structural issues to our home and needs to be remedied. I am aware of a similar issue with my parents' house in Shillingford which resulted in the Council undertaking some work to the manhole cover on Henley Road, Shillingford, which brought it "flush" with the road surface. This seems to be the same issue here.
