I reported these potholes collecting water which is thrown up by passing cars, causing damage to the front door and environment of our listed building. Today a repair was made to the pothole which has made the situation even worse. An even larger puddle has formed which means, as I write this, even more water is hitting my front door. The main cause of the water retention is the erosion of the road surface outside my neighbour’s property which has caused the road drain to be bypassed, see photo. May I suggest someone connected to the highways department comes to view the extent of the damage, so that a well engineered and lasting repair solution can be made. Ian unable to open my front door due to the damage caused. We have a duty of care to protect and preserve listed buildings. I am doing my utmost with this property. I would ask that Cherwell Council do the same. I have many other photographs I could send, but this site only allows three.
