Dangerous cycle lane layout

Reported via mobile in the Roads/highways category by Hazel Dawe at 11:37, Sat 19 December 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

I informed you some considerable time ago that the new cycle lane layout from The Slade to Windmill Road is dangerous. It blocks the left turn traffic lane, a lane which has a long green traffic light phase during which cyclists wishing to go straight ahead are held at a red light. You claimed that you were about to do a safety audit of that area. I have seen no sign of any safety audit and the dangerous cycle lane marking has not been altered. Why not?

  • No. I am waiting for the Council to provide a copy of the safety audit of this crossroads.

  • The council are refusing to acknowledge the problem. Their safety audit did not pick it up so I have repeated the details and stressed how dangerous it is.
