Temporary cover on bridge coming loose
Reported via mobile anonymously at 17:33, Wed 2 December 2020
Sent to Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
The traffic using the bridge on Binsey Lane has worked this cover loose and I imagine it won't be long before it comes totally adrift from its fixings. The noise as the traffic passes has become progressively intolerable the looser the cover has become.

This road hump is now very, very loose. The bolts that secure are moving or broken and it makes a loud bang every time a vehicle goes over it. It will become free very soon I feel.
The heavy vehicles servicing the parcel delivery hub, pub and farm are too big for this item and it cannot cope. The high speeds that the vehicles are running over it are exacerbating the problem.

The cover is so loose, and makes such a loud BANG-BANG sound when the traffic passes over it (which is happening with increasing frequency now the weather has turned and lockdown has eased) that it's becoming a kind of noise pollution. Lately it has been waking us up in the night. If it comes loose I suspect it will be very dangerous for the motor vehicles crossing it.
Would it be possible to tarmac over the hole it covers so that the problem goes away?

The temporary cover on the bridge along Binsey Lane is still loose and increasingly noisy. Traffic over the bridge is heavy all day and now the the Perch is open, cars whiz over the bridge late into the night. This disrupts me and other residents as we work from home during the day and wakes us up at night. As well as being annoying, I'm not convinced it's vey safe. When will the bridge be fixed?

This road cover is getting noisier and noisier. It is like having somebody slam a door, two times in quick succession, every time a car goes over it. Which is very often. At night it wakes us up. During the day it is a constant distraction. One of the bolts is now completely loose, sitting in its hole waiting for the whole thing to come off - a potential hazard that has been reported here already.
Please could we get some kind of update about this? It has been almost six months since it was first reported.
