Large trees overhanging garden.

These two large trees have branches that overhang my garden, it blocks a significant amount of sunlight. During high winds the smaller branches often break off too. They have been overgrown since we moved in during February 2020 but since the leaves have now fallen its much easier to see the branches to trim them back. Due to the low hanging branches we have also noticed the area often got used for groups of teenagers to gather under the trees throughout the summer. We would appreciate if these trees could get significantly cut back if possible please.

We have visited site and assessed the trees in their location. The trees present are on land not deemed to be part of the publicly maintained highway by OCC in our capacity as local highway authority. The trees present are on land maintainable by an adjacent landowner and not by the County Council. You can access the land registry at: https://www.gov.uk/ search-property-information-land-registry to find details of the adjacent landowner to pursue your enquiry. You are also within your common law rights as a landowner to cut any overhanging vegetation back to the boundary line of your property.
Many thanks for your enquiry.
