In progress
Outside my house, 1 Bridge Farm Cottage there is a constant problem with both potholes and flooding. Some of the potholes have been filled in but there are still a number that are still there and will become increasingly worse over the winter. However the biggest problem is the flooding (photos attached). There are two drains and a drainage pipe that lead into the brook but they are all constantly blocked with mud that has been slushed into them by cars as they dive down the road. In turn the excess water and mud is being thrown up against my house and is now starting to cause some concern that I may well have to get the house repainted and damp proofed which is obviously very expensive. This problem has been reported on numerous occasions by residents of West Challow and nothing seems to happen. To this end an elderly relative tripped in a pothole which was hidden by the water, a lady on horseback was thrown of her horse when the horse lost its footing in a pothole covered be water. It is now getting very dangerous and needs sorting. All three drains need unblocking and measures put in place to stop them getting blocked up. I feel that if nothing is done then I will have no option but to send all payments required for work on my house due to the flooding to the Vale of White Horse Council.
