Reported via desktop in the Street lighting category by Michael Skinner at 17:52, Sat 28 November 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

In particular the street light outside no 83 is totally useless simply because of overhanging branches. This has been reported previously but no action has been taken. Essential that this matter is dealt with soonest.

  • I am not even sure the light itself is working but it should be clear to any of your engineers that there are branches growing all round the light and post which seriously affect the level of lighting covering the street. Happy to meet with any official if they have difficulty understanding the problem.

  • Our contractors have attended this light unit twice this month and fitted new bulbs. Are you able to provide an update with some photos to highlight the issue with the trees? We may have to contact the landowner or organise for a tree contractor to attend dependent on the situation.

  • I am totally at a loss to understand why your contractors think they have fixed this problem. We are talking about the light outside no 83 and no 85. The light was not working last evening(26th Jan) and the overhanging branches have not been removed. If your engineers are in any doubt about which light I am reporting best that they call at our house and I will point it out.

  • Ref: 00382052 The original light selected was no. 13 but the light outside 83/85 appears to be no. 11. This has now been logged on our management system for repair and I have highlighted it is obscured by branches. Our contractors will aim to have this repaired within 7 working days. If it is found to be a supply fault this will be passed to the local DNO operator to attend.
