Subsidence, where the left hand wheels of vehicles have caused the road to sink, creating cracks and uneven camber. It has been like this for some time. We were cycling along this road on Sunday morning. Slightly damp. My husband was on the 'wrong side' of the adverse camber doing around 15mph when both his wheels skidded simultaneously and he crashed onto his right hand side, causing trauma to his right knee, a bang on the head and numerous grazes and cuts as he hit the ground. He was too injured to continue, and we had to call for help and be taken home. My husband has had Xrays and is awaiting an MRI scan as it rendered him immobile and in too much pain from swelling and bruising. We are worried this could happen to someone else. I'm sorry we didn't take a picture - we were too shocked. It's not the kind of incident we will take legal action on , but we really would like this stretch of road to receive attention, given the severity of the danger of the adverse camber in damp conditions to cyclists. Luckily there were no cars coming, but it could have been quite dangerous if there had been any. The subsidence is easy enough to see, but if you would like a picture, I will try to go back and get one when we are out of lockdown.
