Blocked drain from road to drainage ditch
Reported via desktop in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 15:59, Tue 24 November 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Despite the OCC insistance that the drainage ditch along Reading Road be deepened, it is not going to be effective if the channel from the road to the ditch is blocked. As you can see, water still puddles around the drain that is still blocked and even has the same plant growing out of it. This has been reported a number of times and each time closed, but the blockage (and plant) still remains. Please can a visit be made by OCC and clear the drain channel. Avoid school drop off and pick up times as parents with children at schools park all along this road during those times. Thank you.

Thank you for reporting this issue. The gully issue/blockage will be included in our forthcoming gully cleansing programme. As there is a limited budget, we have to prioritise high flood risk areas. Sometimes it is the volume of water that falls, and our drains are unable to cope, but the water eventually disperses. If you feel your property is at risk, please contact the emergency services or contact our call centre on 0345 310 11 11 to request sandbags. We will continue to monitor this on our routine inspections. Regards
