Reported via desktop anonymously at 17:08, Sun 22 November 2020
Sent to Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Wide pavement for walkers being used by cyclists who refuse to use the cycle path which runs parallel. This is a danger to walkers. This is a long-standing issue but worse since Covid with more people on cycles.

Thank you for your enquiry, I can advise cycling on the footway (unless it is shared use) is an offence. Under the Highways Act 1835 s.72 (as amended by s. 85(1) of the Local Government Act 1888), cyclists must not cycle on a footway (pavement) and must keep to the cyclists’ side of a segregated cycle track. If this is not on a shared use footway you will need to contact the police for enforce this.
