Road humps are too severe

Reported via desktop in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 21:12, Thu 19 November 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This road has just been dug up and finished and resurfaced and the resulting ramps are really severe and result in a sudden hard shock to the car. They need inspecting. I certainly will be claiming if my shocks need attention at my next MOT, there are also no ramp signs and just 2 small white triangles on each side

Council ref: ENQ20880940

  • Thank you for reporting this, we will pass on your comments to the developer, Cala Homes.

Our Site Inspector did visit here last week and checked the works completed by the developer. We have asked them to investigate the ponding issue and to check that the height of the ramps are correct, as per the approved plans. We have also requested that they arrange for a Road Safety Audit Stage 3 to be completed as a matter of urgency.

    Kind regards
    Road Agreements Team

  • Thank you, although Cala homes are building off the road, this is a public highway and surely the inspection should be performed by highways as it is them who claims will be made too, There are already many visible lines where vehicles are being grounded when hitting the ramps so this needs urgent action and not left to a developer to progress.

  • Still not fixed, more visible lines, humps should enforce the speed, not require you to almost stop before being able to drive

  • No evidence that anything has been done in relation to this at all, the humps continue to get scraped by cars
