Pedestrian crossing

Reported via desktop in the Highway Schemes category anonymously at 11:16, Wed 18 November 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

I believe, following discussions with a number of other people, that the installation of a zebra crossing close to the roundabout near the Chinnor Rugby Club at the junction of the A4129 (Princes Risborough road) and the Thame Ring Road would make crossing the very busy road much safer.

Many walkers use this route to the countryside and it is quite a challenge to cross the road safely. The roundabout is quite small and high, making it difficult to see if an oncoming vehicle is indicating to turn left or continue ahead.

Could this be added to the list of road improvements need in this area?

  • Thank-you for your enquiry and please accept our apologies for the delay in response. With any proposed alterations within the Town we would suggest, if you haven’t already, raising this with the Town Council as they are best placed to consider the relative priority for this against any other locations that they maybe considering. In addition, if the Town Council do consider it to be a priority, they are often best placed to identify and secure potential sources of funding for such works. In addition to this we have also listed this location as a potential for improvement, if both priority and opportunity allows.

    State changed to: Investigation complete
