Traffic lights out of sync
Reported via mobile in the Traffic Lights (permanent only) category anonymously at 02:00, Wed 18 November 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
First picture The traffic light is out of sync whilst going through moving traffic the primary light just turned amber from green as I was going through it and taking right turn down Headley way off London road, however the secondary had suddenly turned red whilst primary just turned amber, meaning for safety, I had to suddenly stop with tail end of car just over pedestrian crossing, but also then couldn't continue as I'd be blocking cars from Brookside. Please can you check the traffic lights there are in sync, as it has caused worry.
Theres also an issue with the traffic lights bottom of Headley Way if taking right turning from marston road to go up Headley way, you can't actually see the pedestrian crossing traffic light colour, see second picture, it's an old picture but where the circles are there are new lights, and from the angle your in the car when taking right turning, the view of the pedestrian crossing traffic light can only be seen by those coming from marston ferry road, not the turning from marston road.

Updates
-
Primary and secondary signals will change at the same time, once a vehicle has crossed the stop line on green it should proceed even if a secondary signal showing red is visible.

The update was ridiculous. It wasn't to do with driving skills...as if car starts going from right I'm not about to write myself off it was to do with traffic lights not being in sync.

Still open, via questionnaire -
Thank you for your recent report. An Engineer has checked the operation of the junctions in the area and found them to be working as intended and without any current faults. We will continue to monitor the signals.
