Insufficent width of shared use path

Reported via desktop in the Pavements category by Chris Brennan at 17:46, Thu 12 November 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The path next to West Kidlington School is only 730mm wide where the concrete post is. Can some of the adjacent ground be surfaced so that people can pass each other without one of them having to get muddy feet.

This is also a shared used path and forms part of the National Cycle Network.

Many thanks

  • Thank you for your report. Our Highways Officer has visited the site and passed his report on to our Traffic Team who have agreed that the footway needs to be redesigned and widened to prevent people working in the muddy area.
This will be entered in to our future programmed works schedule. Unfortunately due to budget constraints we are unable to give a date for this at present.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

    State changed to: Investigation complete
