Road floods in heavy rain.

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

For a long time there has been flooding across Cothill Road and onto the pavement at the point where the road crosses the Sandford Brook. This happens frequently, whenever there is heavy rain. It is due to the roadside gullies being blocked with tree roots. Jetting has been tried but does not work. There are older houses set below the road level at this point. Previously this has led to the loss of landline and internet connections.

  • The blockage is to the east of the brook, not the west as indicated on your map. Water comes out fo the two drains on that side.
