Adverse effects of traffic calming scheme
Reported via mobile in the Roads and Carriageways category anonymously at 10:07, Wed 4 November 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Since implementation of traffic calming on Gillotts lane / hill traffic speeds leaving that zone and coming through the School zone have significantly increased in some cases 70mph + throughout the day. Please can this be reviewed as likely will lead to a serious traffic related incident.

I walk up this route every day. The speed of traffic has always been too quick at this point. Therefore, "Since implementation of traffic calming on Gillotts Lane / Hill traffic speeds leaving that zone and coming through the School zone have significantly increased", is not something I have observed. The fact that cars drive to fast here is true, but it is not related, IMHO, to the traffic calming measures at all and the speeds have not increased.

Thank you for both comments on this matter. Indeed, it would be unusual for actual vehicle speeds to increase immediately past any new traffic calming. However, as it is possible a vehicle is in a lower gear on exiting the traffic calming and therefore the engine maybe running at a higher revolution? If there is repeated occurrences of inconsiderate driver behavior then this is often best addressed through police enforcement with the individuals involved.
