Thank you for your report. I have visited the site pinpointed on the map, by 14 Fogwell Road, see photos. The blocked gully drain relates to a previous ongoing drainage issue at this site so has been assigned to the drainage team for further investigation. I have also arranged for this gully drain to be cleared and pipe jetted.

A week later and the drain hasn’t been unblocked, with heavy rain tonight I have water flooding my driveway again, the water has collected against my property and I have had to secure my sons moped in fear it would be pulled over. The water has headed down into my back garden which is already soaked damaging grass and meaning the garden is not accessible for our dog or to hang out washing. Can someone please help, my property is being damaged and my front garden has subsided over the last 6 months meaning my slabs outside my front door are all uneven and my driveway is a crumbling mess not the nice tarmac I remember.

Site visit by highways officer on 12/11/20 found water coming out of drain and going along road. The problem is caused by Thames Water surface water sewer being blocked . Officer contacted Thames Water and asked them to clean their surface water sewer urgently and they said they would be out within 2 hours. The officer also arranged for 10 sandbags to be delivered to No 14 Fogwell Road.
Officer made follow up site visit 13/11/20 The water had stopped coming out of drain, presumably because Thames Water cleared their blockage in sewer. Sandbags were on site.
The OCC highway drains connect into the Thames Water sewer which is the cause of the problem.
Engineers at OCC highways and Vale district council trying to resolve the issue.
