Uneven Pavement, No Dropped Curb
Reported via desktop in the Footways and Pavement damage category anonymously at 21:00, Wed 28 October 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
This has previously been reported and closed due to lack of further comment. The Wallingford Road, outside Glebe Cottages in South Stoke, is impassable for the mobility impaired, leaving vulnerable residents unable to leave their home without needing to travel down the road in order to avoid the obstacle which is the pavement outside their property.
The height of the curb, and the drops for the driveways turn the pavement in to an obstacle course. Additionally, there is no dropped curb at the southerly end of this path, connecting it to the road called South Bank.
This issues result in Wheelchair users and Pushchair pushers needing to enter to road to negotiate this area of the village. Whilst yes, this is a 30mph speed limit section, there is also significant speeding on this portion of the road, making travelling down the road, rather than the pavement very dangerous.
Please can this be looked in to. One suggestion being as pictured.
