After yet another near miss as I left my driveway this morning I am wondering if the parking of vehicles in front of my house could be restricted to one vehicle only by making the area in to a one vehicle bay by the provision of white lines as per Cromwell Avenue and Hazel Crescent in Kidlington. The restriction of vision by the parking of two vehicles creates a situation of "Accident waiting to happen" I realise that such white lines are not enforceable in law but at least double parkers including the commuters who stay all day might be deterred. Every little helps. Indeed failure to adhere to the lines would open the door to my Motor Insurer blaming the parkers but i would prefer not to be involved in a collision.

Thank you for your report. We have had a look and suggest that and APM(access protection mark) would be the best action to take. These cost a fixed price of £128 and will cover the driveway to your house advising other drivers not to park there inconsiderately. they are not enforceable a you know. However, they are very effective. The link to the application is https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ residents/ roads-and-transport/ street-maintenance-z/ private-access-markings.
