Speed limit should be changed on A338 passing Grove from William’s roundabout to Canal Cottage traffic lights, 50mph is too dangerous, should be 40mph. People regularly cross this road and there is increased residential and passing traffic. It is difficult for traffic to pull out or cross the junction safely. Motorcycles etc often speed dangerously along this road. Also, dangerous speeding is taking place on the local estate which is heavily populated with children and the elderly. Speed limits should be adjusted and traffic management measures should be taken before a terrible tragedy occurs. Please advise who best to contact about this?

  • Thank you for your report. We have recently carried out speed surveys on this section of carriageway which have confirmed that the existing speed limit is correct for the location, the only way to lower the speed limit would be to install traffic calming measures to lower actual vehicle speeds, i regret that Oxfordshire County Council do not have the available budget for such a scheme at this time.

    State changed to: Investigation complete
