Unsafe to walk out of my house

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
There is no pavement on the lane where I live. The speed limit is 30mph, which is too fast for cars to be able to see and brake in time when I am walking on the lane with my dog or little boys. It would help if the limit was lowered to at least 20mph. Yesterday I was nearly killed by a car doing around 30mph - luckily I saved myself and my child by jumping into the nettles on the verge, dragging my 4 year old with me. Please consider lowering the limit to 20mph before someone gets killed/badly injured.

Thank you for your report and please accept our apologies for the delay in response. Unfortunately many historic villages are not blessed with pavements as the roads are narrow having originated from times before the motor car. There is a gradual move towards further consideration being given to 20mph speed limits (where it should be borne in mind that these are often a lengthy and costly process) and these are best first discussed with your Parish Council.
We thrust this assists.
