Double Yellow Lines Required - Prevent Parking opposite busy junction on busy road

Reported via desktop in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 12:38, Thursday 22 October 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The Highway Code states you must not park opposite or within 10 metres of a junction. In the last 6 months it has become more and more common for people to park directly opposite the junction of Woodlands Rd with Wood Lane, Sonning Common. This causes an enormous danger to road users and pedestrians. As you manoeuvre round the parked vehicles you have no visibility of what is coming and you are in the middle of the road. This is a bus route. People are unable to pull out of the junction safely either. It simply requires double yellow lines opposite the junction, and 10 metres either side as the Highway Code states.
