Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Two accidents in last 3 years involving the sharp right-angle blind bend in 30 mph zone of rural B480. SLOW, BEND AND NARROW road signs present. Some vehicles approach the bend at speed and when out of the bend zoom up the narrow `skinny stretch` of B480 westwards towards the Crown Inn where customers cross the B480 from the southside pub car park to the northside pub. Both vehicles in the recent accidents, October 2020 (car) and May 2017(transit van), were travelling from Henley towards the bend, crossed the B480 to crash through hedge and fencing of field on north side of the B480 The B480 highway at this bend is crossed by the Oxfordshire Way Bridlepath. Vehicular Traffic, including farm and forestry vehicles, share the footpathless B480 at this blind bend with walkers, runners, Duke of Edinburgh groups, cyclists, bikers, horse riders & post box users.
Fatality on B480 outside Crown Inn in circa 1985.
Please can Traffic Speed Monitor(s) be installed in Pishill to calm speeding, as seen in neighbouring villages.
