Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Parents are dropping kids at school and park all over A417 making it so dangerous for other drivers and pedestrians. Double yellow lines or other traffic calming measures need to be put in place to protect the kids.

  • Thank you for your report. There are already formal waiting restrictions in place (double yellow lines) on the A417, to extend these would require an amendment to the Traffic Regulation Order which involves a long and expensive legal process including full consultation, i regret that Oxfordshire County Council could not fund such a scheme at this time. It should be noted that if the vehicles in question are parked in a dangerous manner they are committing an offence under Section 22 of the Road Traffic Act 1988, this legislation is enforced by Thames Valley Police.
