I came off my motorcycle at 5:20am on Wednesday 21st October on this stretch of road. I was riding straight and neither braking, turning or accelerating. I had no warning before the accident, I could not see the mud in the dark and rain. There were no warning signs. I have suffered injury to my right foot and damage to my motorcycle. Please provide details of the public liability insurance so that I may progress a claim. 07985460168

Thank you for your report. I have visited this location today, 22.10.20, there was no mud present on the carriageway in the pinpointed location, however, the location description described the hill traveling towards Swerford, which you confirmed was the correct location when speaking to you on the roadside. I conducted an inspected of the whole road from Hook Norton to Swerford and found mud on the carriageway in two places between Highwood farm and cradle barn, it was not an excessive amount but deposits which may cause a possible hazard to road users. There were no warning signs present. I have arranged for slippery road signs to be placed on the Swerford Road at the entrance to Highwood farm and Cradle Barn at 16.47 today, the signs will be erected within two hours from this time. I will now conduct a land registry search and write to the landowner/s reminding them of their legal responsibilities under the Highway Act 1980, sections 137,148,149, 161 and their legal obligation to clean up any mud deposits on the Highway.Regards
