Handrail and supporting timbers collapsed

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and West Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later
A section of wooden handrail, posts, side rails etc have collapsed due to a combination of rot, people standing on the rails, etc. Needs the north side sections to be stripped back and renewed throughout ASAP.

The handrail failure has been cordoned off: recommend that the sub-structure of this and the adjacent bridge is checked as there are an increasing number of areas of the decking which are going "spongey": a shut-off for remedial repairs would have a dramatic impact, so preventative action would be sensible. NB the footbridge Witney Mill - West End also has soft patches: the under-boards beneath the bitumen dressing are breaking up ?
