A tall fir tree which sits between 20 Meadow Way and the A44, close to the drainage ditch, shed 2 or more large branches during the stormy weather on 26 August 2020. The branches fell towards the A44, but luckily short of the footpath/cycle track.

This was reported on 27 Aug 2020 by Keith Johnson of Yarnton Parish Council, but nothing has been done yet. The fallen branches need clearing from the site, but I am more concerned that the remaining weakened tree could fall in the next high winds towards and the footpath and A44, or in the opposite direction onto my property at 20 Meadow Way.

One of the images I uploaded is irrelevant, a holiday snap of Whitby Abbey! Please ignore! This wasn’t a senior moment, as the images were all picked from an album which only contains images of the tree. There doesn’t seem to be a way to delete it.

Thank you for your enquiry. I have inspected the tree and at the moment, it doesn't present an imminent risk to the highway. The tree is not the responsibility of Oxfordshire County Council but a letter will be sent to the relevant tree owner to advise them of their responsibilities. The branches on the ground should be removed shortly. An order was sent to our contractors at the start of September and the branches should have been removed by now. I will chase the contractors.
