Overgrown hedges covering footpath

Reported via desktop in the Grass and Hedges category anonymously at 11:49, Wednesday 14 October 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This happens every few months -the hedges between 9 and 12 Denton Close cover the footpath and mean you have to walk in the road to avoid getting snagged by the branches.

  • Thank you for your report. I have visited the site you pinpointed on the map, see photos. After referring to maps, I have requested a letter be sent to the owners of 8 & 11 Denton Close, Botley, asking them to cut back their hedges, overhanging the footway, within 28 days of receipt.

  • Some of the hedge has been cut back toward the bottom of the street but the majority is still as it was. Looks like the hedge is the responsibility of different people and only one person has done their bit.
