Bourne Close, Cutteslowe

Reported via desktop in the Gully and Catchpits category anonymously at 21:08, Tuesday 13 October 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

I am writing to inquire what it would take to have a drainage gulley installed across the pavement (Bourne Close, Cutteslowe, Oxford), running from our front yard to the kerb. Many older streets in North Oxford have such metal drainage gullies.

  • Good morning. Where possible, drainage from your property should lead to a soak-away, or existing drainage within the property. Historically, some properties have the aco channels leading to highway drainage, usually when there is no existing oak away or drainage (eg old terrace houses straight with no frontages). I suggest investigating the drainage within the property and installing a soak away if there is no existing drainage.
