Two drains in the road gutter are completely full of dirt and sand obviously shed by a passing lorry on to the road and the pathway.

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
The narrow foot pathway is almost completely covered with a layer of sand and the roadside gutter is full of a mix of sand, leaves and dirt. Two gutter drains are completely full and there would appear to be no chance of rain water being taken away. Please send a road sweeper and gulley cleaner to clear this all away from the footpath and road urgently. Vehicles constantly travel too fast around this bend and discard part of their load on to the path / road.

I last updated you with this issue on the 14th October. No action has yet been taken. Yesterday I could see that even more sand had deposited into the kerbside and the drain was now almost completely covered and looks to be full with sand. I am attaching three further pictures taken yesterday and you can just see the drain. Not only is this a problem of blocked drains but the pathway is also showered with sand which hinders pedestrians. This can only have been caused by Heavy Goods Vehicles travelling around the bend and shedding part of their load which must surely be illegal. I will be following up this update with an email to Liam Walker, the County Councillor responsible for highways. Please action urgently.

Thank you for your report. We have looked at it and found that it was a duplicate of an issue reported by the inspector on her A417 inspection the day before. Please report any road sweeping requests to VOWH DC in future. The drains should be clear / are on the list to be cleared.
