Can you please advise who is responsible for putting up a sign at the bottom of Bear Lane to say “No access Via Bear Lane to Crazy Bear or Car Park”. Visitors should access the car park via Newells Close. Even though their is adequate signage on the main Road they are using Bear Lane as a cut through. Can you help? Thank you for your report and please accept our apologies for the delay in response. As you note the Crazy Bear does have a number of brown tourist signs to encourage visitors to access the pub on the more direct route from the A329 via Newells Lane. As it is also possible to access the frontage of the Crazy Bear from Bear Lane and that Bear Lane does also join with Newells Close it is possible that some local drivers are aware of this. However, at this stage, especially with the pub now temporarily closed, we would not (unless the pub or parish council specifically wished us to) be considering this with any priority.
