As you can see from the photo above I am finding it very difficult for my container to enter in my warehouse as there are cars in the front of my warehouse parking that is blocking the container from entering in. This car parking is right outside my warehouse unit 6 Lupton road Thames OX9 3SE. I would like to request that there be a double line there as people are parking there cars there and that we need that space empty so that my container can enter in easily.

  • Thank you for your report and please accept our apologies for the significant delay in response. The installation of formal waiting restrictions (yellow lines) requires the implementation of a ‘Traffic Regulation Order’, this involves a long and expensive legal process including public consultation, I regret that Oxfordshire County Council do not currently have the available funding for such a scheme.

We would suggest that an initial approach is made to the Town / Parish Council so that due consideration can be given towards its priority within the local area and so that the proposal can be endorsed and promoted locally.

It should be noted that if vehicles are parked in such a manner as to cause an obstruction of the highway they are committing an offence under Section 22 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and can therefore be moved by Thames Valley Police although, from experience, matters can also often be overcome with local understanding
