Footway from Abingdon terrace to Oxford crescent is 6" underwater when it rains

Reported via desktop in the Pavements category by marianne maunder at 13:47, Mon 5 October 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Urgent attention requested:

The path is too narrow to pass safely in the dry... down-right dangerous when wet... and nearly lethal once frozen...!

Please add drainage if this path is to remain at low level... or redirect path higher up the verge beside the new cycleway. Preferably while you have contractors working on this stretch of the Wantage Road.

It would be unhelpful to finish the "Development for cyclists" and leave the rest of the community to continue in its present unsafe state.

Wellington boots are required any time of year... unsafe for wheelchair users and their carers as it stands.

Contractors working on the cycle path were staggered by the amount of water they encountered in the past few days. Their plans do not [currently] appear to address this situation.

Hadn't reported this footway flooding because we believed the new cycle/foot path would improve the situation, It affects the Wantage road north side - from the east end of Abingdon Terrace to its junction with Oxford Crescent.
