Council street lights are off after dark

Reported via iOS in the Street lighting category anonymously at 06:39, Mon 5 October 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This section of Blackburn Close is owned by the councils (not Nuffield Health or Greensquare Housing who own other parts of the site).

The street lighting on the long section. of road from the London Road to the flats at Blackburn Close are not coming on after dark. Feels unsafe especially since the route is overshadowed by trees so little light spill from elsewhere. Children live on the street and regularly play outside, but are hard for motorists to see in the dark.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report, to enable us to log the fault to the correct unit can you please advise using the attached map the street light number you are referring to. If the unit is not on the map this would not be owned/maintained by Oxfordshire County Council and would need to be reported to the developer/landowner direct. Unfortunately we do not keep records of private lights.

  • You refer to a map attached, but there is not map attached. Please provide or link to the map in question (with the street light numbers) so I can do as you ask. Greensquare Housing have previously told me the road *is* owned by the council so I presume the street furniture on it would be likewise.
