Road flooding in outside my property and our neighbours

Reported via desktop in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 14:14, Sat 3 October 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The flooding happens every time we have significant rain. The situation is dangerous as the flooding is across the road and deeper than usual. We had been told that an drainage engineer would be reviewing the situation but again today the flooding is dangerous. There is the ongoing erosion of our verge and we are considering taking legal action over this as we have been raising this as an issue and complaining for 8 years since we moved to the property.l

Today we witnessed an agressive arguement between a cyclist who had been drenched and a motorist who had created such alot of spray had covered the cyclist. We are on a cycle route so we have alot of cyclist using the lane.

We need to get people to slow down when there is flooding so if we can be provided with some flooding signs immediately this would help. But the problem needs to be fixed properly. It's an accident waiting to happen. I have today notified the police and they are notifying the highways authority.

  • The flooding happens every time it rains. I did ask for the flooding signs to be left so at least we can slow people down when they go through the floodiing but they were taken away as soon as the last flood finished. Now we are in same situation again. Some kind of permanent drainage fix is required
