30mph sign repositioning
Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 09:37, Thu 1 October 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Our house is on the edge of Hook Norton village, and is positioned on the part of the road just before the 30mph sign. I imagine, in days gone by, this sign was at the edge of the village, however, since then the village has grown and it is no longer in the right place.
We find cars drive down Burycroft Road past our property at speed before braking for the 30mph sign. It would be safer if the 30mph sign was moved up the road by a few hundred metres, so that drivers adjusted their speed at the edge of the village before reaching our property. Please can you advise how we can proceed with this?

Hi I have not received an update on the above query with regards the repositioning of the 30mph signs to further out of the village. I would be very pleased to provide further information should it be required. Many thanks Alexis Hayward and Neil England

Thank you for your report. This is something that the parish would need to fund as it would need amendments to the TRO(traffic regulation order) This costs £3000 just for the legal work and would have to pass through a consultation. Then we will be able to move the signs.
