County Council failing to repair bus timetable cases
Reported anonymously at 11:28, Fri 25 September 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and West Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later
On 3 September I reported that the timetable cases at the northbound bus stop in Churchill, Oxfordshire are damaged. On 17 September OCC replied denying responsibility this stop and suggesting that West Oxfordshire District Council may be responsible.
The bus stop sign and timetable cases are OCC standard items, provided some years ago by OCC. Churchill Parish Council may have provided the shelter. It is highly unlikely that WODC is responsible for any part of this bus stop.
On 1 September OCC reintroduced bus service X8 which serves this stop. Unless it has devolved bus stop maintenance to the bus operator (Pulham & Sons), OCC remains responsible for the sign and timetable cases at this stop.
If it wants passengers to trust and use route X8, OCC should take responsibility for this bus stop and restore its timetable cases to a fit condition.

Due to a limited maintenance budget over the last few years there are many bus stops around the county in a similar state to this.
Funds are now available and outstanding defects will, hopefully, be rectified on a route by route basis.
This issue has been passed to the relevant team for consideration for future programmed works
State changed to: Investigation complete
