Temporary traffic lights causing long queues on Calvin Thomas Way

Reported in the Current Roadworks category anonymously at 08:24, Friday 25 September 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Temporary traffic lights have been put on Calvin Thomas Way with no forewarning causing long delays in both directions. This is particularly problematic during rush hour and for school runs.

Signs only say that the road will be shut between 8pm and 6am for a few days from 28th September. They gave no indication that temporary traffic lights were going to be placed on the road in the days before this and cause travel disruption. As a courtesy the contractors/council should have at least had signs up warning of the impending placement of the traffic lights in the week leading up to their placement. That way we could have at least had time to plan alternative routes rather than get stuck in a queue of traffic.
