Waiting time for pedestrians way too long compared to time that drivers get.

Reported in the Traffic Lights (permanent only) category anonymously at 17:41, Wednesday 23 September 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Traffic light doesn't change frequently enough. Software possibly needs to be adapted accordingly so pedestrians will have more safe and more frequent opportunities to cross the road.

Updates

  • Thank you for your recent report. During peak times the Bath St crossing is linked to the Abingdon traffic signal network, therefore pedestrian wait times are similar to those found at typical signalled junctions and will vary depending on how busy the network is at that particular time. Off peak times the crossing is isolated from the network to help reduce pedestrian wait times.
