Blocked road drains at entries to Hedges and Sutton Closes causing flooding of road, parking areas and garages.

Reported in the Drainage category anonymously at 11:17, Tuesday 22 September 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

The blockage seems to be leaves which probably come from the stand of huge overgrown beech trees between these 2 properties. Now that their leaves have started to fall, the blockage can only get worse. Flooding occurred twice over the summer. The second time I reported it over the phone and requested that the drains were cleared. I also suggested that on account of the trees, regular clearing would be a good idea. I was told this would be arranged. If the drains have been cleared, no-one saw it happen and they have already refilled suggesting that clearing isn’t regular enough. This is a long term ongoing problem. When I bought here, the area of road flooding was marked on the environmental reports from my solicitor. This impacts on home insurance as most companies reject the postcode due to the flooding!
