Extremely smooth metal plate is a slick hazard for cyclists in rain

Reported anonymously at 19:51, Friday 18 September 2020

Sent to Oxford City Council and Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

This metal plate in the bike lane on Windmill Road and Langley Close has been worn smooth and has no traction when it rains. This is very hazardous for cyclists who can easily have their bikes slide out from under them as soon as their wheel passes over a slick metal plate like this in rain or frost. On such a busy road with motorists often not giving 1.5m distance when they pass cyclists, this could result in a serious or fatal accident.
