Hugely overgrown tree/s, dangerous with children running around and cars having to park within the overhang which is causing damage
Reported in the Report a tree problem category anonymously at 17:28, Fri 18 September 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
This tree has been overhanging for years now, and it’s getting worse and worse. The children that run around can’t use the patch of grass there and it seems the council are also unable to get to the grass to even cut it because of the overhang. As shown in the photos, cars are literally having to park within the branches, some of which are thick and can therefore cause damage to paint work and windows. The sheer size of the tree is now effecting satellite signal in surrounding houses meaning some residents have had to change providers which is an inconvenience and has cost them extra money. This/these tree/s are at the bottom and to the left of Ladywell close in North Leigh.

We have visited site and assessed the trees in their location. The trees present are on land not deemed to be part of the publicly maintained highway by OCC in our capacity as local highway authority. The trees present are on land maintainable by an adjacent landowner and not by the County Council. You can access the land registry at: https://www.gov.uk/ search-property-information-land-registry to find details of the adjacent landowner to peruse your enquiry. You are also within your common law rights as a landowner to cut any overhanging vegetation back to the boundary line of your property.
Many thanks for your enquiry.
