Obscured road view when turning right from Fernham Road
Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 16:29, Wednesday 16 September 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Many shrubs and saplings have self rooted in the ditch and along the verge of the A420 obscuring the view of traffic coming from Swindon direction. Vehicles come from Swindon at high speed and it isn't possible to see them approaching round the bend. Consequently it is quite common for a car to start turning right out of the Fernham Road and then change their mind as a fast car suddenly appears. Frequently the fast vehicles on the A420 have to brake (or overtake) dangerously to avoid the vehicle which has just turned right onto the A420. The problem is less severe in the winter as the leaves drop and you can see slightly through the shrubs but visibility is still poor.
