Poor & Not enough road Signage

Reported in the Road Traffic Signs and Road Markings category anonymously at 20:12, Wed 9 September 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Another aborted attempt to get to Barton from the Eastern Bypass due to vehicle going straight over in the middle lane due to lack of enough clear signage for A40W / Barton / A40E. There is a diversion cuttently in place and those unfamilar with the layout only have one sign to indicate lanes. Very dangerous and poirly designed layout. Road markings only work when there is light traffic as soon as there is traffic it becomes hidden.

  • How come the left lane is leading to Barton? I live opposite to the roundabout and only during this week more than five accidents accrued in the same lanes as drivers are using the left lane to go to Barton and others are using the middle lane to go to the ring road. Having Barton on the left lane is extremely dangerous

  • This same thing has just happened to me. I was trying to go to Barton from the A4142 and got cut off from someone taking the middle lane and exiting onto the A40(W). Please, Please add something like a large overhead sign indicating which lanes drivers need to be in!
