Japanese knotweed in verge opposite Frog Cottage, North Hinksey Lane

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and Vale of White Horse District Council less than a minute later

I reported japanese knotweed at this location some years ago. It was treated at the time but appears to have returned. It is about to flower /shed seed.

  • Thank you for your report. This Japanese Knotweed on the verge report has been submitted to the team responsible who will commission a Specialist Sub Contractor, who are experts in these matters. They will visit the site and programme the appropriate action.

  • Thank you for your report. When passing this site, recently, I noted that this Japanese knotweed had been cut down during the recent programmed grass cutting before it could be dealt with by our specialist sub contractor, see photo.

  • Thank you for your report. When passing this site, recently, I noted that this Japanese knotweed had been cut down during the recent programmed grass cutting before it could be dealt with by our specialist sub contractor, see photo.
    They can now do nothing at this time of year, anyway, as the plants would have been rapidly shedding any remaining leaves and shutting down for the winter. They need the plant to be active.
    The Identified Knotweed site has, however, been included onto a list of sites and will be visited in May and again at the end of the Summer. I am therefore closing this report.
