Reported in the Drainage category anonymously at 14:08, Tue 18 August 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

A domestic surface water drain for Matthews Stable Cottage, Thrupp , OX5 1JY connects to a similar drain on and serving the neighbour's property. This shared drain is then taken and connected to a road gully some 15 M from the boundary of the neighbour's property with the road. Could you please advise who is responsible for maintenance of this 15M drain ? Thames Water state that they have no surface water drainage responsibility within the Village and suggested that I should ask you for guidance.

  • Hello,
Highway authority is only responsible for surface water that runs of the highway within highway boundaries. Any domestic water issue should be resolved by local water authority in this case Thames Water. Thank you
