Massive flood across half the road.
Reported in the Blocked Drain / Gully category anonymously at 23:36, Mon 17 August 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later
Massive flood here this morning and still bad on our way home this evening about 5pm. Deep water covering over half the road. Believe it may be a blocked drain but very dangerous if anybody hits this unawares after dark. Had reported this last year and thought the problem had been solved, but it is back and just as bad.

Terrible flood again today Monday 5th October. Half the road under water. At least this time there were police warning notices in place so people would not hit it unawares, although I worry how they will manage after dark. Needs urgent investigation before somebody has a bad accident here. How many years is it going to take to get this problem fixed??

Thank you for your enquiry. Due to current weather events we have issues with flooding all over the county. If you feel your property is at risk, please contact the emergency services or contact our call centre on 0345 310 11 11 to request sandbags. If this road is impassable, please let the call centre staff know and we can get the road closed or erect flood boards. Sometimes it is the volume of water that falls, and our drains are unable to cope, but the water eventually disperses. The gully issue/blockage will be included in our forthcoming gully cleansing programme. We will monitor this area on our routine inspections. Regards
