Non resident cars obscuring entrance to resident car park
Reported anonymously at 09:25, Mon 17 August 2020
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council and South Oxfordshire District Council less than a minute later
Entrance to resident car park is being obscured by non-residents cars parked dangerously close to the exit. Vision of incoming traffic is impaired, and making a left turn out of the carpark is therefor tricky. Ideally, some yellow lines are required here in order to keep the exit clear. In the above photo, I have parked my black Audi in the offending spot (but far enough out of the way of the exit to be safe) to block members of the public doing the same. Quite often, cars will be parked right of the end of the yellow markers I have added to the photo.

Thank you for your report and please accept our apologies for the delay in response. The installation of formal waiting restrictions (yellow lines) requires the implementation of a ‘Traffic Regulation Order’, this involves a long and expensive legal process including public consultation, I regret that Oxfordshire County Council do not currently have the available funding for such a scheme.
It should be noted that if vehicles are parked in such a manner as to cause an obstruction of the highway they are committing an offence under Section 22 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and can therefore be moved by Thames Valley Police.
Access protection markings (white H marks) could be considered whereby there is a chargeable fee for this. Further details can be found on our website by following this link: https://www2.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ cms/ content/ private-access-protection-road-markings.
We trust this assists and apologise, once again for the delay in response.
