Blocked Rainwater Drain.

Reported in the Drainage category anonymously at 09:53, Friday 14 August 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

Our rear rainwater drain is blocked. In the recent rain water has been backing up into our garden bringing with it cigarette ends, bandages and other matter. As there is a history of communal street drains (89 Islip Road) being blocked I’d guess the problem stems from the main rainwater drains being bunged up? Please could you advise as now water is seeping into our basement. Thank you very much.

  • So water has been flooding into our garden all weekend from the rainwater outlet. It’s obviously blocked at a distant place in the communal system. Literally about four gallons an hour (we’ve been diverting it down our foul waste, otherwise the whole place would be flooded).

Please could you kindly look into this.

  • Thank you for your report.

You will need to contact a drain company to investigate the blockage as this is on your own land.
