Damaged and missing bollards

Reported in the Street lighting category by Oxfordshire County Council at 08:56, Thu 13 August 2020

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council less than a minute later

There is a build-out outside our house, no 45, which used to have 3 keep left bollards. Two have been gone for a long time, now the third and final one has just been knocked over. We think this is a dangerous situation, with no marking for the build out, as it is just over the brow of a hill.

  • During the last 2/3 weeks I have seen and heard 4 vehicles hit the kerb where the 3 missing signs are supposed to warn motorists that the kerb comes out halfway across the road. Anyone coming down Queensway who does not know it is there can quite easily go to the left and close to the normal kerb to pass on the inside any vehicle that is turning right through the central reservation to get to Mewburn road and Queensway shops and face a kerb sticking halfway across the road with no time to do anything. There is also the risk that someone could be standing on the edge of the kerb waiting to cross the road and will not be seen util the last minute and end up in the same condition as the warning signs. Latest hit was today 1/9/2020 at 8:20 am
